The majority of PCs are protected against viruses but not against spyware. Spyware is a new generation of malicious programs that infect numerous unprotected computers every day. A spyware program can display advertising pop ups when you are browsing the internet, collect data on your computer and your browsing habits, add unwanted toolbars or buttons to Internet Explorer or slow down your computer.

I use adaware to keep all the bad stuff away from my computer. I also use Trillian Anti-Virus, only because it came with my computer. They have been doing a good job so far, I've had the computer for about a year now and no spyware problems at all. You just have to be careful about what sites you are opening and what you are downloading. I only download files from trusted sites. I also never use IE, always Firefox.

I purchased a dell from dell.com . Came with a 1 year subscription to trillian, it's about to expire soon though. I want to start using Kasperovsky anti-virus, I heard it's one of the best.

I heard AVG is the best. I know the Dell's stunk in the past. (Every Dell I have seen has failed miserably.)

I've had no problems with it so far. The hard drive was making weird noises once, but it comes with a 1 year warranty so they sent a technician to my house to fix it for free. Their computers aren't that bad. I am going to get the new dell xps latop very soon.

That is excellent.
That is a good way to use a computer and look after it.
