- There are many ways to earn ET Credits. Here is a break down of the ET Credits system.

Posting:
- 5 Credits for creating a new thread
- 2 Credits for each reply
- A minimum of 20 characters must be met in order to receive Credits.

Referrals:
- You will earn 50 ET Credits for each member you refer to Elite Topics.
- There is no limit to how much you can earn.
- Both users receive the bonus
- Requirements a new referee must have for both users to receive their respective referral bonuses
- 15 Posts and 5 days registered as a new user.
- Note: Any user found to be abusing or cheating the system to obtain ET Credits via this method will be banned from ET Credits and will receive an infraction with possible ban from the forums.

- To get your referral link, go to your UserCP and you will see your link there along with your referral count.

Activity:
- If you log on and make at least one post a day, you will receive an extra 10 Credits in your account everyday.

Birthday:
- You will receive 25 ET Credits on your birthday

- If your post is good enough, people will

Please note that we are only accepting blogs that are older than ninety (90) days old. Plus, you must have a minimum of 15 blog posts. Your blog must be getting traffic, otherwise we may not accept your blog. After we review your blog, we will manually add the points to your account, usually within 24 hours.

- Receive up 200 Credits if you get any posts or threads on the front page of a social network.
200 Credits for Digg, 100 for Reddit, 50 for any other.

RULES:
- We do not tolerate spam.
- Moderators will be strictly monitoring all posts to make sure nobody is trying to cheat.
- Staff members can not participate in the contest.
- The contest will end when the forum reaches 15K posts
- The iPod offer is only available to USA & UK residents because I cannot guarantee shipping to other countries. However, the $100 PayPal prize is available to all countries.

hi admin your contest is interesting but it's hard to reach 15k post mark quickly.
How about reduce it to 5000 post mark?

Actually 15K posts isn't that much. If we have 100 members posting 3 times a day, or 50 members posting 6 times a day, it could be over in less than two months. It might seem like a long time, but it isn't considering the prize being offered. The best way to speed this up and earn credits at the same time is to refer people to ET.

So this is a new one, just like our on DP. But, some how I will the layout of this forum than DP.

Congratulations for the designers and admins, they have really put in a great work. I think I can refer my friends to Elite.

How will you track if those guys sign into your forum through my referral, is there any referral program here?

Do not worry, the contest will not stop until we reach that 15K point.

15000 post will be reached but it will take too long time, maybe 4-5 month or even 1 year

15,000 is not a lot when you are talking forum posts, especially in a general chat forum such as this one.
This achievement will be much easier if you refer other people to Elite Topics, which was the intended main goal of this contest. And obviously, the more people you have posting, the faster it will be over.

There are two main reasons why the post count will not be lowered.

1) The value of the prize is too big ($150) to have such a short competition, the results must be worth the price. If you want to lower the contest post count to say 5000, then the prize would have to be something like a T-shirt and some candy.

2) The calculations were made that would have the contest end about one month after people start coming, considering that the initial members refer new ones. This is calculated by having 100 new members, each posting for the contest, about 1-10 posts daily. This averages to 5 posts per member, 500 posts a day (100 X 5). Given that the forum already has about 1,500 posts, the contest should end in about 27 days ( (15000-1500) / 500) ). The problem, which will make this contest last longer, is how long will it take to get that many active users? And that is a simple solution, which you can solve by referring members to ET. Both you and the referee will earn 50 credits towards the contest.

Plus, I was considering 20,000 posts, and it was lowered to 15,000. This number will not go any lower unless the prize changes.

look, it's already 2 days since my last post, but the post mark is not increased too much, maybe just 1-20 post
it's so slw, so i think there is something to be considered about this contest :

alternative:
1. decrease the post mark target
2. change the contest system which more interesting --> example : the winner is the one who have most point in 1 month or forum poster contest

Well, that's why we offer multiple ways to get points. You can refer people here and get a lot of points, make topics, etc. If no one else is posting, that means that you have a head start on winning, don't you think? :P

akira, have you seen any other forum giving away a free iPod before. I am crazy for doing this, but I like this forum and I want to see it grow. I also want to see some dedicated members, and a member enjoying a nice prize.

Think about this, if I put a duration on this contest, for example one month, and you are the highest poster in the end with 15 posts, then I give away the iPod? Also, I will not lower the post count, 15,000 is pretty low. As I said before, the easiest and fastest way to reach this goal is by referrals. Refer people and you will get a head start, be active everyday, and you get 10 points easily. It's not that hard, once we get the members and have them posting, it will be a matter of days. So again, I am NOT lowering the post mark target, and I will not consider changing the contest system unless it makes sense to do so.
